Rocklea is a Brisbane City Council suburb, postcode 4106.
Our depot is at Marsden, and Rocklea is about 16.2 km north-west of it.
Rocklea is some 11.1 km south-south-west of the Brisbane CBD.
Rocklea is mostly an industrial suburb today, but it has a long residential history. Its first housing estates were sold in the 1880s, after the railway arrived, and more followed between 1915 and the late 1920s. Military bases were later converted to housing, and a War Housing estate was built.
The homes are now concentrated between the railway line and Granard Road, and small parts of the suburb are mapped in the City Plan 2014 Traditional building character overlay under the Neighbourhood character sub-category. No Queensland Heritage Register place has a Rocklea address.
It is a small residential community. The 2021 Census counted 757 private dwellings and 1,672 residents, with a median age of 34. Separate houses made up 86.2% of occupied homes, flats or apartments 7.5%, and semi-detached homes 4.2%. Renting is common, at 47.3% of homes, with 18.0% owned outright and 31.8% owned with a mortgage.

Most people know the suburb for the Brisbane fruit and vegetable markets, which moved there in 1964, the Rocklea Showground, Rocklea railway station on the Beenleigh line, and Oxley Creek Common.
Water shapes Rocklea's story. Oxley Creek borders the suburb to the west, and Rocky Water Holes Creek, Stable Swamp Creek, Moolabin Creek and Pennywort Creek also run through it. Rocklea was Brisbane's most flooded suburb in January 2011, as it was in 1974 and 1893, and Wikipedia lists it among the Brisbane suburbs worst affected in 2011.
In the February 2022 flood, CoreLogic estimated that about 49.3% of Rocklea's properties were impacted, the highest share of any Brisbane suburb it named. Homes that have been through floodwater can carry the after-effects in their plumbing, from silt left in drains to fittings that were replaced during the clean-up.

Rocklea is in the Brisbane City Council area, postcode 4106, and Urban Utilities supplies its water and sewerage. Postcode 4106 covers Rocklea alone, and it recorded 547 small-scale solar panel installations, 108 solar water heaters and 36 air-source heat pumps from 2001 to September 2026. The suburb is 16.2 km north-west of the Marsden depot, bordered by Archerfield, Coopers Plains, Salisbury, Yeerongpilly, Tennyson, Sherwood, Oxley and Willawong.

At roughly 180 people per sq km over 9.3 sq km, Rocklea has room. Longer sewer and stormwater runs across a block are part of the picture here.
The Brisbane River runs through the area. Properties near it deal with stormwater that has somewhere to go in a normal week and nowhere to go in a heavy one. Rocklea the worst-affected Brisbane suburb in the 2010-11 floods. Properties with that history benefit from stormwater that is checked before storm season rather than during it.

On the larger blocks here we can usually get the van close. What slows a job here is the length of pipe between the house and the main, not getting through the gate.
We service the suburb daily, and we will tell you honestly on the phone how long we will be. We cover Tennyson, Yeerongpilly, Salisbury and Coopers Plains on the same runs, so if your street sits on a boundary it makes no difference to us. Because Rocklea railway station is here, early and late appointments are the norm in Rocklea rather than the exception. Beyond the immediate neighbours we also run to Archerfield, Willawong, Oxley and Sherwood on the same days, so if your street sits awkwardly between suburbs it makes no difference to the service you get.

Guessing where to dig is expensive; locating it is not.
The bathroom list here is predictable: a shower that drains slowly, a mixer that has lost pressure, a toilet that keeps blocking. Each has a different answer.

We service every hot water type in Rocklea and will tell you plainly when a unit is past repairing.
We handle gas fitting for cooktops, ovens, heaters and hot water, plus leak testing on existing lines. Every job finishes with a compliance certificate.

For emergencies here we are candid about the 16.2 km drive, and we talk you through isolating the problem while we are on the way.
Hidden leaks get found with equipment, not guesswork. Cutting walls open to look is the expensive way to be wrong.

Photograph what you can see. Water travels, so the damp patch is rarely above the fault, but a picture still helps us arrive prepared. Note which fixtures are affected. One fixture points at that fixture. Several, or the lowest one in the house, points at the main line, and that changes what comes off the van.
Photographs of anything concealed are standard. You should be able to see what was behind the wall even after it is closed up.

Emergency plumbing – give the experts a call
Where the fault turns out to be the council's asset or a retailer's responsibility rather than yours, we say so and we do not charge you for their pipe. Access is the thing that most often moves a quote. The same repair under a house, in a wall or beneath a slab are three different jobs, and we establish which before pricing it.
We quote before we start, here as everywhere. You hear the number, you agree to it, and that is the number on the invoice. If we find something unexpected, we stop and tell you before continuing.
Stormwater maintenance in Rocklea means clear gutters, clear downpipes and clear pits, so the water actually reaches the Brisbane River.
Because Rocklea is in the Brisbane City Council area, sewer and stormwater connections need council sign-off. We arrange it.
Rocklea is covered by the Moorooka ward, which matters for any work in the verge or the street rather than on the block.

Common questions
We cover Tennyson, Yeerongpilly, Salisbury and Coopers Plains on the same runs, so a boundary address makes no difference to the response you get.
Yes. Where the fault sits in common property we identify that early so you are not paying for work the body corporate is responsible for.
Yes, with acoustic and thermal detection rather than opening walls. We locate the fault first and quote the repair second.
Yes, as a priority job. Shut the water off at the meter first - that stops the damage while we are on the way to you.
For common work we will give you a range on the phone and a fixed price once we have seen it. We do not start without you agreeing to the number.
Yes. Gas work is licensed work - appliance installation, leak testing and certification. If you can smell gas, turn it off at the meter and call before anything else.
We provide the report, photographs and cause-of-damage detail insurers ask for. What the policy covers is between you and them, but the documentation will not be the holdup.
